Bio-Materials Testing Rig

During my undergraduate studies, I designed and built a programmable biomedical materials and components testing machine to measure the strength of materials and how they fail under tension.

Designed for testing various biomedical soft tissues and materials, the rig I built was controlled via an Arduino and had a programmable strain rate and testing program. Stepper motors allowed for precision and easy calibration. Users could record stress and strain using a phone camera, and analyze the footage using image tracking in MATLAB.
